Battle Cry

Battle Cry

A Poem by Brilliant Balances

Over time mountains must become molehills
Try, work, sing, hope, pray
Points go unnumbered
And reflection is shadowed like the day

Later is a time already lived
Family measures unfolding paths
Hope is a dream for a story
The present a light that it casts

What's known is one big indefinite
A pack of wolves crying in the night
O the moon is full of opposition
As darkness is nuanced by the light

Nothing is as important
As hearing a deafening, sullen tune
Nothing is as courageous
As the the fight against too soon

Not without a thunderous stand
This is the refusal of the fall
Powerful as a million explosions
Rising above the highest wall

No, nothing capsizes integrity
Nothing defeats the work of the poor
This train is coming down the track
And nothing can muffle its roar

The battle cry has broken the silence
And this new day will begin
