You and Me

A poem about love more as friends not as lovers although tried

I look at you and wonder
What you saw in me

Miniature person
but attitude
as big as a tree

You look at me and wonder
What I saw in you

My answer to your question
can only be you

when I looked at you I saw
Not just a guy
So really tall

But a friend no matter what
That loves and cares
Though times get tough

Laughed
Argued
Cried
Lied

At some points we could have died

Through anger
Through pain
Physically and mentally drained

We came through the storm
Strong and tall (small)

but through it all we have each other
not together
but friends forever

don't doubt yourself
i need you and you need me
no matter what
we will get through this
you will see!

Sadly, I know the feeling. Your poem is concise and genuinely heartfelt, with a great natural sense of rhythm. It shows a lot of maturity, actually. Great work.
