Life contract

Life contract

A Poem by Ellejune
"

About a contract most people make in life then regret at some point.

"
Nobody knows why I said those words I did
the vows

A promise
A contract

Sealed with a kiss
Until I'm dead

Even if you go first

Sealed
Through laughter
Through pain
Daylight
Nightime
Everyday

Forever is a long time

Nobody knows why i said those words I did
In the way i did
that made the whole room believe me

A contract I made
Oh boy if I could Id trade

I ask my friends
What I could do

The only answer I got
If I wanted to go through

Divorce

Oh no!!

oh i thought this one would be one of my worst
I'm divorced. And when I said those vows in front of god and everybody, I meant that s**t. But. Here I am. Sometimes it doesn't work out. But then again, sometimes circumstances don't allow us to behave irrationally. Very expressive write. Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope you find some happiness in whatever decision you make. By the way, not really seeing why you rated this "mature"...?

I think this is more universal than most of us will admit...
My thoughts... We were made to be creature of pure spiritual oneness. Our own souls once given would make this vow and we would never be "cheated" or "cheat" the other out of the perfect love both deserve.
We are no longer those pure creatures... Sin has found us and changed us. We wed today as a cultural symbolism of commitment to a choice and to a "god". Not one soul on this Earth today can keep those vows each moment and each second within each thought to remain pure and true to our devotion. So, each day we stay, we must re-commit our devotion and save our families from the pain of being forever disconnected from something that was meant to keep us whole.
(that is only in healthy and safe relationships, sometimes divorce is the cleansing fire of hell that is needed to destroy an evil union).
Well, maybe too much...
Great poem my friend!
