![]() Nature's phone callA Poem by EllebannA![]() Signs that we should not take for granted.... Nature's call...![]() The wave came and destroyed everything in its passage It broke down walls, its threw down trees, it crushed down houses and ripped roads apart It brought mourning and outcry's Nature made a phone call, what was it trying to tell us? They swam for hours looking for their usual spot of ice, They could not find it... They swam till their legs could not take the pressure... Finally they let go, sinking in the deep harsh cold sea Nature made a phone call, what was it trying to tell us? They thought it was supposed to be the dry season, no rain was expected for a long time But an never ending rainfall fell down mercilessly covering everything up slowly but surely A flood appeared out of the blue, a strong current dragging people harshly down what was once a simple road Nature made a phone call, what was it trying to tell us? A small island only used to cyclones during the cyclonic season The cyclones never came, but a tornado decided to grace the island with its presence Destroying homes and a lifetime of work Nature made a phone call yet again... What does it want to tell us? It was just a cough, a shiver and a little rise of temperature, Classified as a common cold, no one took it seriously But soon it killed hundreds in hours, thousands in days, a new pandemic was born with no real cure Nature made yet another phone call? What does it want? Nature keeps making those phone calls, everyday, every night, every year Maybe to tell us its had enough of men treating the earth like it was never their home Treating with no respect Those are phone calls from nature, not revenge It is only the price humans pay for never being able to respect what was given to them for free The Earth...
