You left me there

You left me there

A Poem by ThisIsElle_huh

You left me there

Just the age of ten

So little, no defence

Did you even care?

I don’t hold grudges

Unless they are really bad

Tears running as the ink smudges

You really weren’t ready for it dad

Gambling problems

So many lies

Blaming it all on me

Why am I not surprised?

I’m hurt can’t you tell

Nothing will repair this

Will I forgive you, god knows

For you have let your true colours show

I loved the rhyme in this....In fact, this poem has stood out to me as rhyming can be a difficult thing to achieve and also be able to convey a message with the rhyme can be hard- but you have done that in this poem, it is very well written. I can imagine this being like a spoken-word poem or a poem read out at a slam poetry event... well done and thank you for sharing :)
