The "I" inside of "You"A Poem by Elizabeth LaAlthough this poem may seem rather abstract, the theme is centered on consciousness vs. the external world (physical body, emotions, physiology, insecurities, etc).Let me explain these subtile differences Of You and I, in the Mirror. I understand your lack of portrayal Of the Ey inside of You. That’s all they see, is You. Your face, your hair, your skin. But what’s left inside of you, feels deeply misunderstood within Does the weight of your body define me? No. Your face, your eyes or race? No. I’m conscious of all your emotions, and witness tears stream down your face. But do I cry? No. That’s you. There’s no one who loves you more than I. You, are all I have, A reflection of Who I am. Would you recognize me if you peered within? I hope so. Do you? © 2014 Elizabeth LaReviews
