Martha the fly

Martha the fly

A Poem by Elizabeth

Once upon a time there was a fly named Martha
Martha the fly, Was one happy lad
She lived in a barn with her mom and dad
Her mom and dad Flew away that one hot summer day
Martha the fly, was oh so sad
She saw a horse, Tail flipping and all
Martha the fly, Flew into the tail
But bounced off and hit the wall
She kept at it all day
Not knowing why
Martha the fly
Realized she truley
Wanted to die

A young person's comment on the prevailing gender ambivalence in society. Nicely done. Here's a poet who is guided by her parents and must feel poorly for all those who seem to have lost the priviledge. A wonderful comment.

This is a very interesting piece of poetry! I really liked the concept. It was unique and entertaining and a tad morbid....all the things I like :)

A little sinister, but a very interesting poem nonetheless.
