The Illusions We Shatter for LoveA Poem by ElizabethAmBurnsLove and the shattering of illusions.Hear the velvet trickle of the eternal pulse, See a thousand light beads fill heavy skies, Feel the world shatter from electricity’s touch, Split at the seams with one gentle sigh. Tear a thousand holes in the fabric of verity, Increase the crease til crumpled inside convolutions. Stretched far beyond the bubblegum’s reach, drop softly as soap suds in rainbow reflection. Be bounced off wavelengths of familiar vibrations, Spun endless unknowning, now knowing you’re right, Unhook from hang-ups with a knife to your strings, And rip through the void burning supernova bright. Spread fingers too wide and too far for this life, Suck down sweet sharp lungfuls of cold indignation, Breathe out your long-swallowed fog of forget full, And glisten with new life and sweet condensation. Glimmer and refract for these thousand lifetimes. Thrum deep and dark with gleaming amethyst dreams. You cracked up and reformed to an edge you can live on, Where you hear, see, and feel all that is as it seems. © 2013 ElizabethAmBurnsReviews
