Snow of the Apple

Snow of the Apple

A Poem by Ellie Howard
"

Based on the plot behind the story of Snow White, interpreted into a darker meaning.

"

White snow in the mirror, intangibly frosted

Withering the petals of the black roses that wilted

The glass of the hand that held to you, your apple

Her hand twisted slowly

Her eyes filled with poison for the fruit that she gave you.

Give into temptation

Your tongue so impatient…

Now feel the burn, an ambrosia sensation

Chime your fingers, fragile as ice

Blood ran from the lips to the snow that was white.

I loved the way you made the story seem more real and cold. I had to read a second time for the pleasure of the good story in the poem. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.

I really enjoyed this poem! It made me read it twice. :) Yes, sometimes we give into temptation because some things are just irresistible, and we then suffer the aftermath. :(

Great poem! No criticisms.

I LOVE THIS. Anything with mirrors intrigues me greatly because its always a theme of the real enemy being ourselves. Impressive.
