A GardenA Poem by Ellie HowardWe walk into the garden; we hide the blush from our cheeks as we smell the wilted roses. Our fingers stroke the thorns on their stems and kiss the petals that their ovaries made. We walk across the foliage of the soft soil and reached on our toes to eat the fruits that the barked trees gave us. We ate their fruits and caressed their leaves. The garden smelled of fresh rain and velvet edged rose petals. The dew of garden’s earth helped moisten our dusted skin. © 2012 Ellie HowardReviews
