Shadow LoverA Poem by Elizabeth PorterfieldA kinda disturbing thought of mine before I went to bed last night."What do you want from me?" I asked him as he loomed over my bed "That depends on what you're capable of" He whispered in my head His hands found my hair Then roughly yanked His lips found mine He tasted of smoke and seduction I don't know That simple thought changed everything The kiss deepened, roughened And I was hungry for it One moment he was above me The next he lay beside me He pulled me close and I opened up to him Pain and pleasure coursed through me And the night was one I could not regret He was gone in the morning But his kisses still lingered on my lips From that day forward, I wanted no other man My only joy lied in the return of night For that is when my shadow lover visits me He never fails © 2012 Elizabeth PorterfieldAuthor's Note
