The Wraiths of Imagination

The Wraiths of Imagination

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

A poem of shadows and all they can be.

"

The shadows dance

Writhing around the open door before me

Ethereal

Like wraiths escaped from

Beyond

Like smoke

Rising above the ashes

Of my past

The cloudy fog

Of poisoned dreams

And twisted memories

Shining with a dark

Pulsating light

Strangely faded

Surrounded

By Nothingness

But I'm imagining things

After all

They're only shadows

A shadow's dance and a shadow's trick can be a dangerous thing to overlook. Let imagination flow into every part of life, even the dark, because if you can return sane than you bring back more than you think.

It's dark and scary. Nice descriptions. This reminds me when i get spooked by my own shadows and then i realize that it's just a shadow :)
