BlackLight

BlackLight

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield

A shiver trickled

Down my spine

As he kissed

My parched lips

His love was an oasis

In the Desert

Of my soul

A BlackLight

Covering me

Shrouding me

In a world to bright to see

I loved him

Truly, I did

But God only knows

If he truly loved me

They say

"Till Death do us part"

But Death came to me

Before I could

Ever utter the words
