Through My Covered Window

Through My Covered Window

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

My fire poem

"

The fire peeks through the screen

Through the window

Through the blinds

The dancing flames inviting me to join them

And I want to

I want to be

Dancing among them

Laughing

Living

Letting go

Watching as the world turns to ashes

Around my feet

But alas

I am stuck here in my bed

Seeing a mere shadow of the beauty

Through my covered window

Beautiful piece. I myself can not fully understand. All I know is that fire is an intising thing. It draws you in with it's beauty and warmth. The longing for it is well known. Especially those who are pyros. Wounderful write! Sorry for the terrible spelling in my comment. Can't spell check. Anyways amazing piece. Amazing emotions.

Seems like the fire is us, the human race. Cause like fire there is beauty and destruction, two and one, together and apart.

I'm not a pyro, but I sort of get it. You feel pleasure in seeing the beauty of the flames, and it feels like they're alive and you want to be with them.
It's written beautifully :)
Well done

To me it felt like a vision of the ultimate fire.. burning with satisfaction all around her until at her feet as if she were Mistress of the Flame..xo

I'm a pyro :P I understand but I'm not good at telling people what their poetry means.
