PrologueA Chapter by Elizabeth PorterfieldHow it all began!
"Ever, what if the main characters were manipulators of the elements with vamps and weres for the background characters?" David Dawn asked his daughter. They were sitting in his study, also known as "The Writer's Sanctuary," and trying to work on his next novel.
"No, no, no! The main character should be a manipulator of the elements, with a vamp and a were for the best friends. That would be good." Ever laughed. Her father wrote supernatural mysteries. She wrote supernatural romances. Their ideas often clashed, but it was always for the better. David laughed with her. "And let me guess, she ends up falling for the vamp and the were finds another were to fall in love with." "No, the vamp and the were fall for each other, then the main character falls for a human boy." "Wow, what a nice twist!" David was a master of sarcasm, only rivaled by Ever. "Yes, yes it is. I don't suppose you'd want witches involved in the story though. It'd be too busy." Ever smiled at her father. "A story is never to busy for witches. There is always room for more majic and mystery." "Oh, blah, blah, blah. Dad, what is it with you and your witch tales?" "What is it with you and your romances?" "Touche." Ever looked down at her watch. "Dang dad! Its 11:30!!! No wonder I'm so tired. I'm going to bed. Goodnight Daddy." "Goodnight Ever. Wait, before you go, I have something to give you." © 2012 Elizabeth PorterfieldAuthor's Note
