Wordless

Wordless

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

How I would feel If I was rendered speechless

"

How Strange

That words have failed me now

They never have before

They've always found

A way out of my lips

These wide open doors

But breath breathed in

And breath breathed out

Carry no sound this time

Their endless repition

Hath with them

No witty rhyme

As silence

Takes up residence

Within my withering soul

I pray a whispered prayer

That words would come

And make me whole
