My Question to the WorldA Poem by Elizabeth PorterfieldA question for the men who think that all a girl is for is sex and to those who think they know me.When you look at me Do you see who I am? Or what I can offer you?
I am more than my body I am my heart And soul as well
I have a spirit Meant to roam free Traversing the world
Do you see me Or the woman I pretend to be?
This cold, confident facade This wall that I put up This front of bravery
Is merely a costume, Armor to hide my flaws And make known my better side.
Do you see only the act? Or can you look through it? What is it you see in me? © 2012 Elizabeth PorterfieldAuthor's Note
