My Question to the World

My Question to the World

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

A question for the men who think that all a girl is for is sex and to those who think they know me.

"

When you look at me

Do you see who I am?

Or what I can offer you?

I am more than my body

I am my heart

And soul as well

I have a spirit

Meant to roam free

Traversing the world

Do you see me

Or the woman I pretend to be?

This cold, confident facade

This wall that I put up

This front of bravery

Is merely a costume,

Armor to hide my flaws

And make known my better side.

Do you see only the act?

Or can you look through it?

What is it you see in me?

Don't answer the questions as to whether someone else sees you that way, look at whether you see other people that way. Sorry if that doesn't quite make sense.

A very well thought question. I'm sure many people wonder that and it is well structured.
