Boundaries

Boundaries

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

This is what I think of the things that try to hold me back!!!

"

Boundadries

Everywhere I look, they're there

Silent and still they stand

Seeming to stare mockingly

As they wall me in

Claustraphobic?

No, I'be never been.

But I need room to breath

I was born for freedom

Rules

Boundaries in their own right

Physically insubstantial

Mentally, for a man of morale, airtight

Another set of fetters

And chains around my mind

Torturous devices

Made specifically to bind.

Rebellious?

Only a little.

But I hate to be tied down

I was born for freedom.

If you ask me,

Boundaries were made to be broken!
