The Depths of Change

The Depths of Change

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

Another eerie, random, rambling thought.

"

I'm not the girl that I once was;

The one who was always smiling.

Can you see who I've become now?

I'm going darker and falling deeper

Into a pit that never should have been found.

Faceless, nameless, selfless

Who am I?

I lose myself as I lose time.

I'm slipping, dreaming

Of a place where I won't have to let go of the ledge

To finde myself again.

Will I ever find such a place?

Clinging desperately to what's left of myself,

Looking for a hand to hold onto me.

I'm screaming now.

Then a hand reaches out,

One that can handle the weight of my world

As it all crashes down.

You hold me close

And give me peace

I've found myself in your arms.

Now will I finally be free?

I haven't read, and I'm trying to keep up with your recent work. Very good poem; worth reading twice.

Feeling the emotion as I swim in the vast ocean that is you, I dive deep pulling to the surface, desperation drowning in shallow water. Love this poem :)
