The Land of Forgotten Memories

The Land of Forgotten Memories

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

This poem is about loss and how it seems that the feeling of loss gathers in one place.

"

On another long cold night

Slipping through the gates of time

In the land beyond the mirrors

The land of forgotten memories

Shattered glass lays scattered across the floor

The reflection of a long gone soul

Caught at the breaking of ones heart and hope

Captured there forever

A womans tears cover the shards

For she mourned the loss of her love dearly

Both still lived on in this world

Though she died to herself there

On another long cold night

Slipping through the gates of time

In the land beyond the mirrors

The land of forgotten memories
