Black

Black

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

A Song of Pain.

"

Staring at the clock

As the time passes by

The second hand a knife in my side

Take a deep breath

And do my best not to cry

But the tears flow and they won't hide

(Chorus)

Falling into the black

Waiting for something

To take it all back

Wishing that I could just scream

But there's really no point

No one here could help me

So I find myself, falling

The pages of my life

Stained with blood, stained with tears

Torn and crumpled and fading away

The words cut like a knife

"Nobody wants you here"

Though I hear them every single day

(Chorus)

Frozen in my sorrow

Waiting for tomorrow

Waiting for the chance

Just to finally be free

(Chorus)

It's really great. Is it a song? I love the emotions and the flow of it.

Poem? song? it still breathes the same, and it makes one feel very much alive, nice work.

No one is ever truly alone. We just forget to look within, when no one else is around. Memories of yeaterday's sorrow I hope brought a brighter tomorrow.

This was very well written. Your first three lines grabbed my attention right off the bat. i really liked the lines:
"Take a deep breath
And do my best not to cry
But the tears flow and they won't hide"
Just reading these lines caused a phantom ball in my throat. the ones you get when you cant hold back the tears anymore. I LOVE IT :) Great job.
