Gone

Gone

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

The letting go of lost love.

"

Gone

Lost to me

Like the meanings

of the whispering winds

I'll never understand

why he walked away.

Gone

Lost to me

Like the meanings

Of a bubbling brook

What did I do?

Why wouldn't he stay?

Gone are the smiles we shared

The laughs that floated on the breeze

Gone are the thoughts of forever

The "We were meant to be" 's

Gone, gone are the moments

That made you and me

Goodbye

I let you go now

You are free.

The formatting is fantastic in this poem! I also loved the ending, though I think it is always hard letting someone go, in a sense they are always free as person. Even in a relationship it is ones choice whether to be faithful, or be with that person. Even in marriage it is in one persons interest weather they see themselves free, for no one can be stuck with on person. It is a choice. I'm sorry if i don't make any since, i hope you understand what I mean, and I did enjoy your poem very much!!

my favorite part was the third stanza, Thank You.

I love the way you formatted this poem. Its very creative. The poem itself is lovely. my favorite lines are:
"Gone are the thoughts of forever
The 'We were meant to be' 's
Gone, gone are the moments
That made you and me"
The lines fit together and flow very well.
My least favorite line is line six: "but he did"
I don't think this really needs to be included. We understand that he walked away, the conformation isn't necessary. Plus, it'll make the first two sets equal in line count. Other than that little detail, this poem works perfectly. Keep up the awesome work! :)
