Awaken Me

Awaken Me

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

A moment of thought about the world and the difference between reality and dreams.

"

Awaken me

I've been sleeping for too long

Awaken me

CAll me out of my slumber

Help me to remeber

the life before my lengthy rest

Open my eyes

To the nightmares of reality

I'm tired of dreaming

A world that only exists in my mind

Awaken me

To the here and now

Reveal to me

The infirmities existing within

My soul

Awaken me to who I am

Not who I was or who I could be

AWAKEN ME!!!!!!!

This is good. A wish to come to see what is really there. However sometimes it's better to be left in the darkness. Good job!

There was a Door to which I found no Key:
There was a Veil through which I could not see:
Some little Talk awhile of Me and Thee
There seemed -- and then no more of Thee and Me.
i like your words:-)they have resonance

This is very good. I love the how you bring across a desperate tone of some one who doesn't want to be in his or her fantasy daydream anymore. who just wants to see things as they really are. lovely. :)
