Freedom Isn't Free

Freedom Isn't Free

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

You've got to be willing to fight for it...

"
Freedom isn't really free.
Don't you see?
Can't you see?
You've gotta fight,
You've gotta fight
For everything you believe.
I'm glad I found it
Finally.
But even now
It's fight or flee.
'Cause Freedom isn't really free.

People fight
And people die
To keep their homeland free.
Not the land itself,
But the people.
How selfish can we be!
Fight for yourself
Or die for yourself!
They believe in you!
Do you believe in you?

Freedom isn't really free!
Don't you see yet?
Why can't you see?
You've gotta fight,
You've gotta fight
For everything you believe!
And if it's really
Not worth the risk
They why
Do you believe?
Remember, Freedom isn't free!

Will you stand up
And fight my dear?
For that which you believe?
That's the whole point
Of Freedom!
You can believe in anything!
So exercise your right
And fight!
Or give up on your dreams
And flee.

Because my dear,
The sad truth is,
Freedom isn't really free...
