Chapter 7: Moth to the Flame

Chapter 7: Moth to the Flame

A Chapter by Elizabeth Porterfield

For a moment

I thought,

Something here just felt right.

I was broken

But not,

I just couldn’t see the light.

But the flame of you

Shown through the darkness,

I was drawn to you like a moth.

My heart had been lost

In loneliness,

Brought about by distance and sloth.

If he and I had been closer

Would I have strayed

So far from my rightful path?

But my love was not here

For he could not stay,

You and I were the aftermath.

Now I know I was wrong,

I can’t take back what I’ve done,

But there is no more you and me.

He’s forgiven my mistakes

Love the victory has won,

And in him I am finally free.
