BurningA Poem by Elizabeth PorterfieldMe letting go of the guilt...
Ashes falling
All around me This darkness I wish had never found me Slowly I burn I stand surrounded By the fire Drowning in the flames Of my desire Here I am love Watch me burn (Chorus) Cause I gave into the sin The madness of the mystery Fell to me I let temptation in And though I know it's history Still I can't forget Guilt consumes me Like a cold sweat I'm sorry that I Just can't forget yet You've forgiven me When will I learn Still I can't bring me To forgive myself Though my hatred Can't be good for my health I'm sorry Will I ever learn (Chorus) Cause I gave into the sin The madness of the mystery Fell to me I let temptation in And though I know it's history Still I regret You tell me it's done And over with And all I can do Is let go of it You say "Please, For me" So this is how I'm getting over it This is how I'm Letting go of it For both you And me (Chorus) Cause I gave into the sin The madness of the mystery Fell to me I let temptation in And though I know it's history Still I can't forget But now I'm letting go of this The moments I let darkness win
