Looks Like You've Fooled Me

Looks Like You've Fooled Me

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

People so often make you think that they are something they are not... Or that they can change when they never will...

"

The world says

Fool me once

Shame on you

Fool me twice

Shame on me

I have to say that I agree

I've been shamed

Ten times over

You're fooling a fool

Forgiveness is so easy

The endings so cruel

Looks like you've fooled me

And yet again I'd fall

Remember your pretenses

Yet still believe them all

Looks like you've fooled me

You're standing so tall

My faith, my belief in you

Your pedestal

The world would call me gullible

But I know the truth

I just hope for something good

Something knew in you

It looks like you've fooled me

Again

This poem is dedicated to all the people I've forgiven over and over again for the same things. This poem is dedicated to me... in a way... Anyway, what do you think?

Well, thank you very much Thomas:)
Einstein's definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. If he's right...
