The Trifecta

The Trifecta

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

The three biggest parts of me... Who do you see?

"

What have I done?

This monster I've become

Keeps clawing, tearing,

Fighting her way out of me

The happy me doesn't know

The hurting me won's show

Most people see

The B***h

The asinine fool that is my inner evil

That burns the world with no regrets

Or

The Collected

The calm confident woman

Left untouched by

The jests of the world

So few see

The Hurting

The me that cuts twice herself

For every pain she's caused another

But which is sthe real me?

The most me?

Is it the one who makes the people she loves

Wish for death?

Is it the one that laughs and smiles

And always keeps moving forward?

Or is it the me who wants to stop herself

To change what she's become

But doesn't know how?

My scars tell one side of my story

But in truth there are three.

Of this strangely deadly trifecta

Which me do you see?

I was really down when I wrote this... I had just found out that I had brought my dad to thoughts of suicide bc I got pissed at him and everything else and I just exploded on him... I really don't know who I am right now...

Its beautiful but so very sad. You mustn't blame yourself your entire life, learn to forgive yourself for the mistakes you've made. In you, I've always seen the heartbroken side, the one that wants to make everything better for everyone but yourself. You must not dread on the past because it is just that... the past. Focus on ways to better your own life and to make thing better for you.

Thanks sis:) I guess I'll try
This is so sad. Everyone feels like this at least one time in their life when they make a huge mistake and they wish they could change it. I've certainly felt it. I hope you find yourself and that people see the real you under the confusion. A truely, heartbreaking poem. Nicely done.

Thank you so very much:) I'm glad you liked it:)
I can tell you this much. You can't find the truth around others. Minds with secrets they want to keep will automatically try and hide them from others.
