The Curse

The Curse

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

An interesting little song that got stuck in my head not long after I wrote it.

"

Verse 1

Sleep, dream

And the monsters come to call

Weep, scream

No one hears you at all

Deap seam

Implanted in your head

Sleep, Dream

But you know you'll soon be dead

Chorus

You try to fight it

But you know that it's stronger

Than you

So you scream unheard

Cause there's nothing else

You can do

If you find an answer

Just know that

It might not be right

But if it cures the curse

You might get some sleep

Tonight

Verse 2

Wake up

And you think that you're alright

Make up

And excuse to hide the signs

Stay up

Run away from all your fears

Wake up

Cause you know they'll find you here

Chorus

Bridge

Sleep, dream

Weep, scream

Sleep, dream

Wake up

Stay up

Wake up

Got to escape from this

Chorus x2
