Last Words Left Unspoken

Last Words Left Unspoken

A Poem by Elizabeth Porterfield
"

Just an errant thought

"

My stomach knotted

Snarled and snared

From wants and needs

And many cares

Too many now

For me to bare

I can't go through with this

My heart is bleating

Beating loud

From fears and angers

Much too proud

To leave my lips

Just here and now

I can't go through with this

My hands are cold

Colder than death

All I wanted to say

With my last breath

Is fading now

There's nothing left

I can't go through with this

I... Hate...

I can't go through with it
