Can't you see

Can't you see

A Poem by Eliza Williams
"

Can't you see I'm trying? Can't you?

"

We don’t get on.

We used to, but now we don’t.

We haven’t for a while now.

But you think it’s all on me, that it’s my entire fault.

You’re wrong.

It’s not all me.

I have been trying, but you don’t see that.

All you see is the times I slip up and become a b***h again.

Sorry.

Actually, no.

I’m not. Not really. Not anymore.

I don’t notice that I’m doing it anymore.

When he does it you don’t yell, you stay calm and talk it out.

I know I do it more, but that’s no excuse.

Not really.

So I’m not going to apologise, because it never makes a difference.

Not anymore.

You don’t see how much it kills me to think you hate me when it’s my fault.

You don’t care.

You say I’ll never change, but I try.

You just don’t see it.
