HumansA Poem by E/ƎnigmaThis, along with a short story, was the first thing I've ever gotten published and by that I mean in my High School's literary magazine. I wrote it in a haze, but that describes most of my work.I am the
character, you are the character. Therefore I
am you and you are us. We are a sea
of vibrations mingling together, experiencing together, being together. Mute, we
stand together. Mute, we move. Move to the tears of your pain. Move to the love within your heart. Move to the passion of your anger. Move to the beat of your joy. We wear our joys and pains like thin veils over our bodies. So do we move to feel something or do we move because there simply is
no other way? We move to walk, we move to breathe, we move to dance, we simply… move.
We move and we remove… removing as in moving again? As in doing the same thing over and over again because we are robots… Or do we remove the feeling, remove the hurt, remove what we don’t want
to remember because it’s better to remove than to move in agony. That is when we truly are robots. Animated metal and bolts. Robots move, they’re controlled,
we’re controlled - our emotions, our experiences, our lives, our memories. Were we ever in control? No… either controlled by the beast or
controlled by the beast within. The fear. The doubt. The self-hatred. The passion. Either consumed by these feelings or take comfort in denial. So we stand, we move and remove. we march, we exist but as orderly lines in a crowded assembly. Who will break free of these chains? © 2013 E/ƎnigmaAuthor's Note
