Secrets of the Deep

Secrets of the Deep

A Poem by Elizabeth Rawls
"

I have always wanted to explore the ocean's depths. So many secrets and untold mysteries await there. Wrecked ships, sunken treasure, sunken secrets...!

"

Villanelle: “Secrets of the Deep”

You hold secrets of the deep,

Little shell upon the sand,

Of a hidden world to seek.

Many secrets you do keep,

Gold and treasures from the land,

Now a secret of the deep.

Many creatures you have seen,

Lying down beneath the fan

Of the deep, a world to seek.

I would like to know and see

All the treasures that I can

Of the secrets of the deep.

Little shell now take the lead,

Show me hidden ships grand

Lying in a mysterious world to seek.

Little shell I’ll take the leap

To the ocean, guide my hand.

Show me secrets of the deep,

Take me to this world I seek!

I'm not a huge, huge fan of the dark colored waters of the deep, but it is intriguing to think of the mysteries trapped down there :) Great job!!! :)
