Edge of the WorldA Poem by Melissa RoseWatch it burnThe world is upside down. Sitting on the iron beam skeleton of a rusted old skyscraper. The city in the distance burns like the setting sun. The sky is black with ash and crackles with heat lightning.
He holds me under his arm with a single cigarette shared between us. Our leather jackets smell like cold. The piercing on my tongue clacks against my teeth.
All the screams and sirens are an orchestra under our dangling feet. Here, On the edge of the world, Sometimes all you can do is watch it burn. © 2013 Melissa RoseAuthor's Note
