mysteries of a teenage girl

mysteries of a teenage girl

A Poem by EliseChowdhury

She is grown up and turning sixteen

Her eyes have lost their sparkle, their gleam

HELLO, OK, Vogue and Go Girl

Has turned her mind into a vortex, a whirl

She is part of a crowd just like the others

The last thing she wants is to look old like her mother

Her grades have gone down and she doesn't seem to care

Just as long as she has something to fix up her hair

She backchats her Mum and 'whatevers' her Dad

"This isn't like her she isn't usually this bad"

She's up and she's down, it drives you round the bend

Then she's out all day with a new boyfriend

"But who is this girl, this devil, this stranger?"

"Don't worry Mum I'm just a teenager"
