No adequate view.

No adequate view.

A Poem by Elinor Williams
"

Another ranty one that I'll probably edit rah rah rah Wrote this at midnight.

"
You closed your eyes,
to truth.
You covered your ears,
to reason.
but you see it as treason
when someone challenges you
with a new point of view.
Tell me, friend, when did you
decided who
was worthy of your attention
or your affection?
When did being a derivative
of society's wishlist
become the "in thing"?
In your domain, you are king,
you are god,
but how odd
that in a world you owned,
created and loaned
you are alone.

I have met the 'bully of the domain' recently. I tried to avoid them but they seem intent on putting me in their sights and I have to reluctantly take action to protect myself Elinor.
It'll be a figurative fight to the death with 'real-life' consequences for us both but I am done turning the other cheek.
Such a relevant write to me at this moment in time. Thank you

Oh my goodness. This is fantastic! The meaning behind the poem I'm sure everyone can relate to. The words flow so well, and the way it's written is just incredibly clever. I can't say how amazing this is :)

I really like ranty poems. I do this when I write late too and its a great way to exorcise the demons lol. I really like this line "When did being a derivative
of society's wishlist
become the "in thing"? Great job Elinor :).

A sort of mutual friend, but he's not really one of mine and it annoys me.
Great poem. There are always people who value their own opinions rather than the individual voices of poets and writers whose own voices are valuable in themselves without the need for others' opinions. As readers, we need to be careful with how we impart our opinions and always keep in mind that our opinions are just that: our own and not to be forced upon others. Thank you for writing this great poem!

Wow, I loved this. I know a couple of people, one in particular, who thinks that whatever they say or whatever they do is right and everyone else is wrong. They can be hypocrites when they say "Oh well you do see how I look at things", when in fact it is them who doesn't to that.
Kinda ranting on this one, LOL!
Great work Elinor!

We all know someone like this or we are someone like this and if we are someone like this, everyone else is wrong.

Yeh, i do agree there's really a no adequate view in the world what we see and what we hear. Life's shows us only what we want to see and it tells and muses words what we want to hear... that's all about life.. but we don't ever even think and realize that life's got some more angels how we can see and hear not what we want to but what sometimes life tells and shows us. Great and a deep writing you newly made, liked and i analysed this short and a great poem in my mind. Great job once again.
