Eternal promise

I was consumed by darkness  

My world was black 

No wish for light I had

Then you came 

You lit the candle 

Melted my frozen heart 

Lost colours returned 

And for the first time 

A happy smile I had 

The love we had 

Was strong 

And true 

But fate 

Is unfair 

And cruel 

You disappeared  

A severe disease

You had

A letter I received 

With a note 

And a ring

"This ring is part of our eternal promise"

"You are not alone i'll watch over you" 

"Because I love you" 

I read 

I cried 

And i smiled 

Every day I kiss the ring 

And with a smile I wisper 

"I love you"

The first two stanzas were very strong, and actually you stayed pretty strong throughout the entire poem I believe. A sad start, happy middle and bittersweet ending. I liked this one a lot, and the imagery in the beginning was very nice.
