Ads and TruthsA Poem by Elie Mariethe lies of the world. the truths of the world. You watch the ads on tv in magazines and newspapers. You believe the billboards and the models you see. You should be this thin, a certain type of pretty, and your hair, just so. But why? Why believe what's false? Why believe what makes us feel less then? But the ads on tv, in the magazines, newspapers, and on billboards the ones showing us the children dying of starvation the still very much alive sex trafficking the abuse the neglect the wars all the horrors of the world why ignore those why look past those They are the ones we should believe They make us better and stronger aware enough to change a life or a hundred and maybe to save the world. are you thin enough? Have you fed a starving child today? © 2015 Elie MarieAuthor's Note
