I saw our playlist live.

It should have been you.

It was our playlist.

And it was perfect.

but…

it should have been

your smile

your excited hugs

and your hand

in mine

It should have been

you and me

sharing this 

together.

It is a very good poem. I like the use of the playlist to create separation and things never had. I like the calm feel in the words. Like deep thoughts leading reader to the strong and sad ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

i disagree Elie! i like this a lot and wouldnt change a thing .. but i gravitate to free verse and keeping it simple .. using playlist as your platform is very creative .. and in "..sharing this.." for me not only means the song list and the list of things that lovers do but also in sharing your poem .. i think this is very clever indeed
