Lost

A Poem by Eli_blu
"

An epic argument between two people, started out as something small, then gets bigger and bigger. in the end i thought that Cermize was in it, but you'll meet her later.

LOST

We’ve been this way before.
We’ve played this game and come to the end,
and it was not good.
It scared us both.
When all was said and done,
it had all been laid to waste.
It was just an empty shell of what we hoped,
of what we had.

It would be different this time.
We would have everything together.
It would be wonderful,
always together.
The world at our feet,
and victory written on our hands.
We were in the center,
and with hope as our guide we pushed forward.

And we failed.
We reached further than we should have.
Do not bend the truth,
and do not seek to twist my will.
I was there,
I saw the eyes of mother mercy,
and I am set.
We thought our cause noble,
and right.
We saw ourselves as liberators.
But the eyes of the people mirrored our cruelty,
with out a veil or censor.
They haunt me still.
Our rulers are jut,
and powerful.
We were wrong to doubt them,
wrong to think that we could win.

You say that they are just, and good,
but what of your punishment?
What of the people who simply gave us shelter for a night,
not knowing who we were?
They rot in dungeons,
waiting to die.
Or they have already met death,
in the form of a guillotine
or a gibbet.
And you-

Stop!
My punishment is right.
I cannot be trusted,
I am dangerous.

You are alone.
You are isolated,
separated from all forms of life,
no matter how small.
There is no one.
There never will be.
You would almost kill yourself,
just to break the monotony.
Almost.
But you are afraid.
You’ve always been afraid to face what everything must,
in the end.
Even the stars are not permanent.
They too must pass into the void that we call death,
the black unknown that comes after.
That is why you let go in the first place.
Why you stopped struggling.
You told them that you had
“seen the magnitude of their might.”
That you had simply been bent by a greater mind.
That you were uneducated,
blind.
You condemned me,
but that was fine,
because I would already have been subjected to death.
But you,
you wormed your way out,
like the snake that you are.

No.
You were the snake.
You shaped the downfall into a possibility.
But it was never even there.
You said it would all be ours,
money,
gold,
and women.
Everything a man could want.
And it was not me who acted,
it was my greed.
I wish for too much,
and I suffered the consequences,
I am still suffering.

I will rise again,
and I will teach you the price of your insolence.

They are too powerful,
and every one knows it.
Our rebellion only served to prove their point.
You will never find someone willing to listen to you.
You are dead.....

I never liked writing until fourth grade, when my teacher started to require us to write a page a day. I wrote poetry in a big hand to stretch the rules, but eventually I started to explore. I had a w.. more..
