Wicked Beast

Wicked Beast

A Poem by Elijah Washington

Wicked Beast, let me rest.
You have no control over me anymore.
You know know my who I am or my whereabouts.
How I feel, how I act, how I talk and treat others, you don't have any indication.
In your screwed up mind you may think you so,
but you're monstrous thoughts are blinded by the misconception of yourself.

Things have changed, I've changed.

Why do you slander me,
as a stay away in silent peace?
For me the battle has ceased long ago,
but in your vicious eyes it seems to have just begun.

Wicked Beast, search from some other prey.
I'm free now and your taunts can't break me.
Ignoring your imbecile pathetic ways, I will strive on.
Unlike you continuously stalking the innocent,
I have a life to live and things to do.
Unfortunately for you, I'm not the same as yourself, I am human.
