Synthetic Friendship

Synthetic Friendship

A Poem by Elijah Washington
"

About a friend.

"

I thought friendship,

was something that came in pacts of two.

I've done my part,

but what about you?

I was fine with the way things were,

but you had to go and changr it all.

I was over her, over it, done.

But you had to push me into a stumble,

make me fall.

It's not as if I ever liked her,

but you've created a mess.

Without you doing for me what I've done for you,

how can this friendship ever be a success?

I've fought for you, supported you,

I've been then for you since the beginning.

But all and all, in the end,

you're the only one that's winning.

You have her and you have me.

I had you but you left.

Now I have no one,

as a result of this depressing theft.

You're bossy, rude, arrogant and nasty,

nothing I should look for a friend.

Your a negative influence in my life,

this synthetic friendship has to end.

Very powerful and full of strong emotions. Some friendships aren't meant to be but we have to believe that there is someone better who can fill the empty space. Nice job.
