fading beauty

fading beauty

A Poem by Elisabeth Acosta

Soft Red Velvet skin
Sweet aroma from within
Beauty pricks because it cost to hold

Sharp soft sweet beauty
For a small moment lives in my grasp
Then quickly fades
dies as petals fall
only thorns on stems are left

Soft Red Velvet skin
Sweet aroma from within

Amazing and powerful use of description. I could see the soft velvet skin and you made the reader wish to smell the sweet aroma of within. I liked how the words danced into perfect places and thoughts. Thank you Elisabeth for sharing the amazing poetry. I enjoyed this one.

I am without a doubt an idealist, but I do have a touch of realism embedded into my character. I love to write. There is nothing more beautiful to me than words that can create life! more..
