Grey DayA Poem by elfenkate
Grey Day
The trees are jealous, the arch reaches far above their heads. We gave our vows to each other, under that stone giant. Today we return to our sacred space. The moon won’t beam.
Our friends have come, to see you, wearing their best. Despite the cold, the long walk, all made the journey. They wanted to be near you, to know if it was true. They now know that it is, they know the stars won’t glow. We face the truth, it will not be dark, yet there will be no light. There will only remain different shades of grey.
I have brought you to our favorite spot once again. The ruins are covered in snow. The sun won’t shine. © 2008 elfenkate |
