The Rose of White

The Rose of White

A Poem by Glorwen Helyanwe
"

a little poem inspired by my fondness for roses...

"
Roses come in many a color
Their beauty, quite a sight
But there truly is no other
Quite like the rose of white

Yellow means friendship
A bond between us
Red means deep passion
Which often leads to lust

White is for love
Love that is true
So here, my love
This white rose is for you

Roses come in many a color
But compared to your beauty
they are but a blight
There truly will never be another
Like you, my Rose of white.

I love the way you penned this and noted the common symbolism to roses before you compared this person or idea or maybe even an aspect of yourself to a rose. I love the subtle rhymes in this piece too. Excellently penned.
