pebbles

pebbles

A Poem by Eleon

He says

Any move in any direction

Will be enough

We sit on pebbles and I shift

same spot where I've been sitting for the last 3 days

watching the ocean

I see his brown eyes focus

Hard

And trying to tell me

The only constructive advice he can give

But I am at a stand-still

Still

This Is the only thing I can tell you he says

My blue velvet dress covers my legs

against the wind

We look out over the pebbles and the ocean

I don't mind tho

Sitting here with you

Is enough

Your mind

Whirling

Next to mine

I can feel it

Wanting out, to

Run along the seashore

Like peeling off a plaster you said

The sea.

I know

You are kindred

And that we can create explosions

Together

Your brown eyes

In a much older face

Happy now

Smiling, looking at me as if I am something young

Like I am something equally brilliant

Equally good

You don't know how far you can go

I can hear it in every sentence

Seeing you imprisoned

In things you despise

And spit at

We wee and drink and talk and swear

On the pebbles

While others jog past us

We laugh

And I wanna stay

Next to you

All eve

Because it means I am not insane

You make me sane

With your insanity

With your mad whirling mind

You make me want to create instead

of turning the explosions inwards

to go forwards in spite of the stand-still
