Midnight MysteryA Poem by Elena RWe all have different ways of overcoming our fears, how do you overcome yours?
The Sun has been a cornerstone of ancient history,
Which does shine and glow in the morning haze. Little does any know of the midnight mystery, That has sunk in the shadows that star ablaze. As a man walks during the hours of day, So his small companions roam in the night. Slumber in the subconscious, he readily may, Trading the dusk for traditional delight. In the silence of the night, nature cries, Longing for a glimpse of the yellow light. Answering the call, a happy Moon sighs, Offering a reflection, ever so bright. Throughout the meadows, a swift fog hovers, The warm, soft Wind whispers in my ear. “Come now child, and you will discover, The beauty of the night that is true and sincere.” The grass brushes my feet with quick rapid strokes, Painted are memories of freedom and peace. I’m running with the wind; it’s lifting my yoke. My burden is easy; I sway with the leaves. I float as a feather as the fog disappears, On the horizon’s brink, the night slowly fades. High in the sky, a rainbow’s now here, The mysterious darkness no longer stays. I no longer resist the eerie, dim nights, There is beauty to be found in the darkest of hours. Now the Wind guides me in the moonlight, To a brighter tomorrow where darkness must cower. © 2017 Elena R |
