Death Angel

Death Angel

A Poem by Chelsea Marie

The light as the end of these train tracks has brought me back to the world,
For the rain is gone,
And my eyes are now fluorescent.
I can see the evil,
And I shall smite it.
I'll savor the taste of stepping onto this new earth,
And this new beginning.
My wings have never been so luminescent,
This spread apart.
I am free.

Tell me, Death Angel,
Divine Angel,
Where did I go wrong?
In this war zone with myself
Were you my ally all along?
Tell me, mighty angel,
One I despise,
What have I done to me?
Trailing broken limbs behind crushed eyes.
This is not who I was meant to be.
