CRANKA Poem by Chelsea MarieThis is a piece of poetry that I had to write (for school) about methamphetamine.
Crank the volume in my system
So my hands begin to shake, And I feel the pounding in my head. The anticipation to my heart When my palms begin to sweat. I just woke up but now I'll faint again. What used to be a long day Is now a trial to stay alive. I feel the surge beneath my skin. The daylight burns my eyes. The ocean drapes around my legs And consumes the entirety of my soul. I drop the pipe from my lips. The insects crawl beneath my clothes. The creatures on the outside told me I was crazy. But someday they will see, When Crank stops inspiring me. This is the animal I have become, This is who I was meant to be.
