Daddy's Home

Daddy's Home

A Poem by Chelsea Marie
"

This is an old song I wrote years ago :p

"
(verse 1)
With a twist of fragile light,
We come into contact with beings from the storybooks you read at night.
Who kept you awake,
Danced with your mistakes.
And now you hit the floor,
With all the failures you create.
(I ask again...one more time.
Will we ever make it out alive?)

(chorus 1)
And you catch yourself,
Catch yourself again,
From a future and a journey
That have no ends.
And you'll tell yourself,
Tell yourself again,
"You can't have a future, nor journey.
You'll die trying to reach the end.

(verse 2)
With a pound on furnished wood,
Daddy's finally come home,
With a bottle in his hand
(A bottle in his hand)
In the doorway he stands,
And he screams.
Through every last insignificant dream,
Tonight there will be violence.
Daddy's come home to start a scene.

Why is he so mad?
What have I done?
Why is he so f*****g mad?
What have I done to deserve this pain?

(chorus 2)
And you'll catch yourself,
Catch yourself again,
From a father and a bottle
That have no ends.
And you'll tell yourself,
Tell yourself again,
"There's no way out this time,
I'll die trying to escape the end."
